Titanium Aluminide Powder Alloy    
 
Gamma Titanium Aluminide (TiAl) powder components are being investigated and specified in elevated temperature applications where weight reduction is a prime concern. TiAl alloys possess low density, high strength-to-weight ratio, high stiffness and strength, and good oxidation resistance. As such they are being considered as replacements for nickel-based superalloys in aircraft turbine engines, airframes, and automotive applications.

Crucible Research produces an extremely pure and clean TiAl powder that can be either compacted or directly deposited. The powder is homogeneous, free flowing, and has a high packing ratio. Crucible Research has made the largest gamma forging preform to date by using powder produced in our dedicated titanium gas atomizer (TGA).
